1. do you do nothing?

2. do you give it quick blow and shake off any big bits?

3. do you use a cleaning kit?

4. do you use a K&N recharge kit?

5. Buy a new Apexi air filter?

no.5 :)

apexi filters are maintenance free

and should be replaced when necessary

I did option 4 along with disasembling everything and cleaning with carb cleaner.
