Carbon Grille

hi it's me...

the other day I was lookin for a sport grille for my IS, asked a few question on the forum also...

then I guess while I was drunk  I decided to go on eBay and see if somethin was on... :o

found a carbon fibre grill, loved it, bought it.

price? to shoot myself in the foot, as I paid over 140 € with postage and custom fees (did I mention it was from Hong Kong?) :tomato:

quality? it sucks, big time. Compared to the original grille it look like is made of cardboard and chewingum

fitting? even worse, as I struggled all morning to make it fit... finally succeeded (somehow) but not really sure how long will it last, as it all look like it's gonna break in a minute. also left a big gap between the hood and the grille itself (watchin from the front)

I've added some pics for your viewing pleasure (phone quality, sorry)

All in all, don't buy this product - that's my suggestion.

Have a good day

tried to change the subject in "carbon fibre grille" but don't know how, maybe some mod can help...

I cant see the photos :(

Ive got a carbon fibre grill bought it off someone on here pretty good quality but it is TRD one and i think there £200 upwards new, 140 euros is pretty cheap for a new C/F grill to be honest looks like what you pay for is what you get LoL

look out for second hand ones on eBay.

Think Mr Prolex can get new ones but tighten your bum hole for the prices lol

Sorry to see that mate, the fit doesn't look great at all :(

Not sure how it is where you are, but over here dealers are selling the Lexus sport grille for about £35 - its not carbon fibre, but it fits right :)

yeah this is just the proof, you get what you pay for...

I don't know, I'll just leave it on until it breaks, honestly I cant fork out 200+ eur right now, other plan's on the way that involve riding height ;)

This post was mainly for cheap ***** guy like me who think to find a bargain on the net, but end up being -not- satisfied...

Hello LexusIT!

I'm thinking of buying a carbon grille too and did a search and found your post. The one I am thinking of looks very similar to yours. Here it is

I think I will modify the orginal instead, or is this one a good buy?

Thanks, Martin

Must admit i am not rushing to buy one of those myself, would much rather stick with the sport grill!

First I thought they looked great and they do but if it fits that bad on the car it's rubbish.

Where can i get this "sport grill"?? Remember that I live in sweden. I've asked the toyota dealer but they can't get me anything. The "guy behind the counter" could get me a TRD, through some friends or something but he wanted something like 300 pounds, a bit much I think.

/ Martin
