Refreshing The Steering Wheel

Recommended Posts

Hi All

My 1993 has a slightly worn steering wheel, the stiched leather around the rim to be precise, only in one spot, it must be where most peoples hands fall.

Anyone know the best way to deal with this, can you just replace the leather, or is it easier to get a complete steering wheel from a breaker?

Blue if you've got one ;-)

Hi Justin,

Welcome to LOC.

There are plenty of friendly and Lexus informed people on this forum, I myself have an imported LS400 ( Toyota badged Celsior).

Steering wheels frighten me to an extent ( it's the airbag element that gives me the jitters!).

May be worth a look on eBay for a breaker (UK and US) or there are some people specialising in Lexus Breakers in the UK ( I think one is Swift Breakers) anyone confirm this please?

Another option may be to try and obtain a replacement leather cover.

Good luck with the project,

Steve

Thanks Steve

Yes I've found Swift and I've told then what I need, so maybe one will come up.

I think I might get a leather cover as a temp fix, so that I can concentrate on a few other things first, and do this relatively small thing last.

Cheers - Justin
