Lowering Springs

I have been hunting arounds for some lowering springs, I have been specifically looking for -25mm drop due to the 19's.

I have looked at the eibach, but they are a -30mm. The only ones I have came across that are -25mm are G-Max, and this is the reason for this post. I have never heard of them before and would like to know if anyone has tried them?

Found the answer for my own question, G-Max are what used to be the Dutch company Jamex, they went into recievership about 2 years ago. They re-opened the UK branch as G-max.

Also asked around and found out they are pretty good. At £100 a set you can't complain.

Do not go for Jamex.

If someone said they are good, they do not know their stuff.

If you want to go with only lowering springs, I'd say go for H&R, top quality stuff for a Top quality car.

But if you have some more money to spend, go for a coil over set. With springs only you will wear out the stock dampers very fast.

The Jamex stuff??

Well, the cars I have driven with Jamex lowering all sucked. If you have the budget to get H&R or some other high end lowering product I'd say go for that.

Didn't you notice the Jamex where rock hard, no comfort what so ever???

its the summer,you have a nice lady in your car,she's wearing her summer dress(the loose low cut one),you have hard suspension,and its a bumpy road..........:D:D:D:D

im sorry if i offend our femail members but this is a perfect reason for hard suspension.......plus road holding:rolleyes:

Guy's i'll tell you how they are when I get them. They were the only company offering -25mm, and that was what i was looking for. If they are ***** i'll just buy other one's.

firm suspension really does have good road holding... my brothers MR2 has a uprated suspension and is rock hard.. and that really holds the road... unless he over powers around a rounda bout.

I once was in a Escort RS2000 MRk2 and that had hardened suspension.. man i could feel the g's big time when he took be round a tight bend real hard... car just stuck like glue!

I think if the lowering spring is too stiff and the stock shockies will stuff up very fast, b/c I had experience of just changing lower,stiffer springs to my 98 V6 Camry 5MT, and the shocks do not absorb bumps properly now.

But I think IS 200 has much better shocks, so maybe it's ok, and 25mm should not do any harm to shocks.

I lowered my GS 300 by fitting Lexus sport springs. This lowered it 25mm and as they were stiffer the ride was then harder.

I later found out from a friend that there are compamies that can alter your orginal springs to lower the car without making them stiffer.

In that way you can the looks without loss of comfort.
