Online Casinos - A Mug's Game I Know But...

 Share

Recommended Posts

I've played in pretend casinos at office parties before, always on blackjack though. I've been to a casino once, where I lost everything (and then won most of it back) in about 15 minutes, which scared me so much I vowed never to set foot into a casino again.

Then my mate tells me how they play their pocket money in online casinos for fun.

I decide to try it out tonight as I had a few minutes free. Cor blimey...from 50 dollars to 250 dollars, and then cashed in 200 dollars of it.

I know it's a mug's game, but if I'm winning, who's LOSING??

Has anyone got experience of online casinos?

I’m not a gambler except the occasional lottery ticket however I did receive an introductory email worth £50 to use on the then newly opened William Hill site a few years back. I thought what do I have to lose as long as I didn’t go above that £50 that I was given. Anyway, I played blackjack over a period of approximately two months on and off and ended up with £625. I then had a feeling that my luck had run out, cashed it in and have never visited the site since. I was so pleased at winning this for no initial outlay that I even photocopied the cheque, sad or what :)

Ah, I cashed out totally and made 260 quid for a 20 quid deposit. At least I managed to cover the cost of my wheel bearing at Lexus this week!

I know the folks who design all the online casino software, it's all rigged towards letting novices win plenty of games early on to lull them into fall sense of security. Their software can spot pros and then takes appropriate action in each game so that the pro gets annoyed and stops playing.

The only gambling I've ever done was in Las Vegas a few years back. Got a $10 free bet when staying at the hotel. Managed to win the cost of staying at the hotel by playing roulette!! When passing me the chips he expressed a view that explains a typical gamblers day by saying "good day for you ..bad day for me!" No one likes to lose - especially the house. A good gambler knows when to walk away. Recently, I went to a casino just off Park Lane - it is there you realise that some people have more money than sense. However, I suppose you only say it's a mugs game if you are at the losing end!! Know your limits and know your bank balance before you play!
