Didn't notice it until a friend had heard me pull off and gave it a little bit of heavy right foot, but he heard what he described the sound as a dump valve.

Now I know they don't have dump valves but since then I have been listening out for this noise and it does seem that around 5000 rpm it does make a hissing noise. Air being released.

Is this normal?

Cheers,

Kaz. :)

Don't worry about it. You have compressed air in the intake system and such noises are sweet noises. :D

If you heard the noises that my Tubby makes.......

When you floor it, you close the butterfly valve on the SC unit, thus the SC is in the boost state!

Then when you come off the accelerater the valve returns to the open state and any compressed air in the SC unit flows back out throw the induction pipe and filter giving you the "hisssssssss"

Thats my understanding of it. Correct me if I am wrong! Its a lovely feature of the TTE SC though. Mine does the "hisssssssssssss" nearly at all gear changes if the revs are high enough (circa 5000rpm)

if you dont have an aftermarket air inlet, check that ALL the hose clips are tight

Will do :D sounds like the norm though so that pleases moi!
