In 2004 wim was introduced to the habitual inner front tyre wear problem on the IS200/300/SC. After investigating the Geometry positions and the dynamics new positions were written. Test cars from LOC mapped the new Geometry and proved Lexus had got it wrong.

I had a call to set another IS200 with the same habitual inner tyre wear, but this one was different?

The customer had returned to the Dealer and complained that after they set the Geometry the front tyres were still wearing on the insides. The Dealer in question then explained they have to abide to the positions set by Lexus and recommended the customer goes elsewhere to have the positions set to the wim positions.

Finally a Dealer has recognized the positions are incorrect.......... The Power of LOC must have installed this into the Dealer, who had enough respect to advise the customer to go elsewhere and solve the problem.

Well done LOC for making the Dealers aware of your needs.

Note Moderators:

This is not an advert for me! if it was then i would not display the findings, (two years in the proving)

Proof

IS200/300/SC excluding modifications these are the front Geometry positions set on 150 cars so far....

FRONT

Camber: 15' Negative -5' +0

Castor : UK 5 degrees Positive plus as much as the camber/toe will allow... +- 30' (often final position is 5 degrees 10')

Toe : Stock

SJI : even +- 45'

TOOT : 1 degrees 30' measured at 20 degrees at the inner wheel

REAR

Thrust :0

The rest: stock

Point of this post is to say 'well done LOC' and to make everyone realizes Lexus do watch what is said here. Subliminal hints go further than you think :shifty:

if you remember doc, lexus stockport set my geometry taking into consideration the 18's and lowered springs, i showed you the results and you said they had done a top notch job. there was no mention at lex stockport of having to abide by the positions set by lexus. as much as i have issues with lex stockport, they did at least get that right! saying that it was the mazda part of the dealership that did the geo and not lexus

I am just glad in this particular car the Dealer didn't just take the money and run, and that the wim positions have penetrated deep enough to make the Dealer recognize them........ it's satisfying to know other companies abide by the positions so the customer is the winner for a change.
