Spoof Email

Recommended Posts

I was alerted today by a member who feels that he got this spoof email today, and that the only place that has the email account is here on LOC, so he feels that LOC was targetted.

I also received the same email, although I got it on two of my POP3 accounts ..........

The email is as follows .........

Please note that this is a SPOOF.

Regards. :)

https://www.egold.com/acct/login.htm

The actual URL linked to is neither secure, nor anything to do with eGold. It is a scam, a "phish": http://www-egold.net/acct/login.htm

I've reported the dodgy link to NetCraft for further action (including addition to their Anti-Phishing Toolbar), but members should take care nonetheless. I doubt I'm the only recipient, and the destination e-mail address is one I ONLY use here.

I got one too, sent to an account name I used specifically for LOC. Might be worth the admins having a dig through their webstats...

Its common sense that this is SPAM. The casting out in the void hoping someone "bites"

Its very simple!

IF IN DOUBT THRASH IT!

If its really that important and genuine that person will send it again.
