Full Styling Kit

Recommended Posts

i'm thinking about enhancing the aesthetics of the car and have decided that a full body/styling kit is gonna be the best thing to achieve this.

firstly, what's the differences between the TTE & TRD kits (pics would be great). And secondly, is anybody able to advise me on a reputable supplier (apart from astronomical lexus dealers :crybaby: )

i don't want an 'in ya face' full on body kit....just something subtle, but noticeable :D

thanks

rob

Use the search button and bob's yer uncle. Why is it people like others to do their research for them?

Lexus is the only place to get the oem kits from. Bits and bobs pop up on ebay.

well, as i'm a researcher by profession i'm not too sure on how valid a comment that is.

if you don't wanna help thats fine...why post??

i'm aware that lexus offer the products, but i just wondered if there was anywhere else anybody knew of that also supplied the kits or similar. if not, i guess it'll have to be a lexus job. no harm in asking :)

If you are a researcher then this should be a doddle.

Hit search then type 'bodykits'.

You can get GRP kits that are similar.

Type in: lexus is200 bodykits uk in your search engine and it should bring up what you need.

well my research is in the chemistry field so i struggle with computers :shutit:

i have had a look on here and even on some of the US forums....as i'm over there in a fortnight, but i wondered if any members had any contacts they could reccomend (styling companies and the like).....people they've dealt with in the past. that was the point of the thread :D

try www.takakaira.co.jp for alternatives :winky: , however in the long run, the OEM lexus stuff will workout cheaper, but the japanese kits are very good, very well made

i thought i heard talk about some of the japanese imported kits being made of a poorer grade material and occasionally not fitting correctly??

I thought i read somewhere that the Yanks bodykits are designed for their fat bumpers and wouldn't work with euro cars........... :duh:

you can fit US bumpers, but you cannot fit US front or rear lips to Euro spec bumpers

oh right...thats that one blown out the window i guess. still be interesting to see what's available to the consumer market over there. i'm sure there will be other bits and bobs that i'll pick up....first of all a good cable porter polisher :D and a new gear knob of some sort :D

There is a full TRD kit going on ebay. Front + back lips and side skirts. Is about £350. I was thinking of maybe buying it for myself but i'm concentrating on the engine at the moment

yea, i've seen the kit you're on about mate. my only concern with buying things like this from eBay is the problem with them being genuine and not just a replikit :duh:

this one does seem like the real deal though, but i'm not quite ready to buy it yet :crybaby:

I sent the seller an email asking if it comes with the full fitting kit (that is supplied with the lips skirts etc). He said that you dont need a fitting kit, just some screws and some bonding

could someone just clear something up for me please......as far as i was aware (from reading previous threads) the TTE kit was only rear (skirt) and front bumpers?? whereas the TRD kit was full skirts all round?? is this correct??

if so, why does THIS THREAD show side skirts as being included??? :duh:

Yer I see what you mean :o but you are right TTE just rear + front bumper, with TRD its just rear lip, side skirts and front lip :D

Then you can get onto boot spoilers  TTE, TRD OR Styling kit type :duh:

nah, i'm gonna stick with the boot lip spoiler i've got on there at the minute....its the subtle look i'm after.

don't suppose there are any pics of the TRD kit side by side a TTE one are there??

i take it the TTE kit is gonna be more of a PITA to fit as its the whole bumper as opposed to just the skirts?

TTE front bumper is 10 min job to fit (put fogs in 1st), its the TRD rear lip that PITA, as the rear bumper has to come off to fit it, as for pic's look in buy/sell under chris s name'' june specials '' the pic of the TTE bumper is my car :D
