Hello All

Got a TRD radiator cap of eBay today, there saying that it'l make the engine run cooler because the caps rated for 1.3 bar (maybe) and the standard one is only 1.1 bar, is this complete b******s?

Also say that its good for track racing and highly tuned cars etc

Thanks

Yes it's correct

But the stock rad cap is 0.9 Bar not 1.1

Make sure it's a genuine cap most of the eBay crap are cheap copies and won't make a bit of difference

Mr Morse you are almighty knowledge of all.

How will i know if it is the real deal and if it is a fake it will be just a nice add on for looks or will it somehow do damage?

cheers

With the fake caps the spelling on the packaging is often bad! The only sure way to get a genuine cap is to buy from an authorised TRD distributor like Fensport.

A fake cap won't actually harm your engine (unless it doesn't seal properly), it'll just act as the same 0.9 Bar stock cap, in other words no benefits.

So does that mean that a rad cap does do what matey was saying...didn't think it would make any difference, thought it was only there to keep the water in.

Since we are on the subject of radiators, how much do you feel yours up by? im used to expansion tanks, never had a radiator like that before...im currently running that when you take the rad cap off when cold you can see the level.

If it's a genuine TRD cap he's speaking the truth, but TBH it's only gonna make a difference if you're wellying the car on the track or similar
