How Many Cats?

Yes, the sound isn't how I thought it would be, its almost whistley, like a fine thin blowing sound.

That sound you describe I am guessing is the manifold gasket vibrating because of a leak. Also that would allow air in at idle causing the engine to run rich and hence the petrol (rich) smell.

I thought it was too, but the gasket was is good condition so no reason to believe its leaking. Besides a leak would be noticeable by sound and by black markings..

The Rich smell was only noticeable after the CAT was removed :)

Is that an entire mid section with de-cat? for £200 thats fair... but for just a de-cat on the same mid-section... i'd call that bit rich..

Powerflow charged me £80 for mine, with flanges :)

Yeah, price is way high. Try Blue Flame, think they already have a pattern for the Tezza.

Had a bit of an idea :D

If we got together and looked at getting a "club" CAT (or CATS) with standard flanges and straight through pipes that filled the gap. I could do "pukka" drawings so that we could all get the pipe made up.

We could borrow a CAT for the MOT, after leaving a deposit, refundable after the CAT is returned.

Wot do you think guys?

Yeh thats not bad mate. I was tempted to remove the silencer in the mid-section but i'm pretty sure it would get tad too loud and do nothing for the performance :hehe:
