Toyota Soarer 2.5

Recommended Posts

hello

and a good morning to all you young men,

can anyone confirm the existance of the 2.5 soarer deisel

i have heard that one has been developed and is undergoing testing in the uk :o

and even retains the original twin turbos

various sightings have been made in the london area, but obviously is being kept under tight wraps

this , in my opinion would be the bees knees, performance coupled with the economy of a diesel engine

and the torque must be quite substantial

i am sure the company resonsible will be set to make a killing

i for one would be the first to put my deposit down

now where do i send it

hello gord

sorry thats my "strange" sort of humour

there is a blue 2.5 soarer that runs on diesel

a first hand witness actually saw the car being filled with diesel

and when questioned the owner was rather abrupt and refused say anything about it

i cant believe the petrol engine is able to run on diesel without a lot of work

but it did, and evidently it roared away

dont think that you could convert a petrol engine to run on diesel ;)

are you sure it was being filled with diesel

in my opinion you dont buy a soarer to have an economical car

maybe the owner was trying to save a few pennies :lol:

oh yes it was diesel allright, no doubt about that

i realise the soarer is a sports car, but a penny saved here is a pound spent there (as my old mother used to say)

surely it would take a foolish person to try and run a petrol engine on diesel, without it being converted previously

this is causing a huge debate on the scorer forums, the hunt goes on !!

Mmmmm.............Diesel, now that would be interesting. No doubt every LOC member will be keeping an eye open for this phenomenon. I await with baited breath for news of any sightings of said car.

Oh, and welcome to the club :D

As will I -------the first test drive was only 2 meters in duration

and used a tank of diesel in the process

not sure it will catch on

:lol::lol::lol:

easy mistake to make dave

as you know i nearly did the same :D

good job you noticed before any damage was done B)

a word of warning

BP ULTIMATE is 97 ron

unless of course its ULTIMATE DIESEL !!!!

BE WARNED THE PUMPS AND LOGO`S LOOK THE SAME

i think this topic is a joke.............

its not economically possible to convert the 1jz to diesel....it would be easier to just drop a diesel engine in

a joke !! ........really..........no flies on you mat :lol::lol::lol:

the explanation is:

dave mistakingly filled his soarer up with diesel

kami let the cat out the bag

the laugh was, i had just almost done the same thing

went to test drive a 2003 MR2 for kami y/day..........

Blokey gets in to start it up....car not happy missing popping belching out smoke...............could'nt sort it so off we went...............thinking to look elsewhere........

He phones back 2 hours later.......can he'd used for petrol had had diesel in hence reluctance to run..........

Must be a new fashion !

Why on earth would you want to turn a monster like that into a car with the equivalant speed of a local taxi? I have a Toyota Soarer 2.5tt (Rare manual) with 350+bhp and cannot understand why anyone would want a diesel version!!!! If you want an economical car get yourself a HKS f-con V Computer fitted - adds power, speed and efficiency. Please don't consider downgrading the car just add a few bits to help with the economical side of things.
