If you are a vehicle owner or thinking of buying, you can now check the MOT details of the vehicle if you have its VRM and V5 serial number. they reckon around 40% of vehicles on the roads of Great Britain have so far undertaken an MOT test at a testing station linked to the VOSA database and by the end of April 2007 all vehicles requiring a test should have been through the computerised process.

And once you have the computerised MOT certificate, you can renew your road tax online too. No more digging out documents and trekking to the post office. The DVLA knows all about your vehicle!

Also, if you want to know about any vehicle's status (like your first car/bike) just hit the "Vehicle Enquiry" button on the DVLA website, below. You just need the reg number and make.
