Lexus Vs Hedge

I was down in Cornwall over the weekend and encountered a tractor on a very narrow country lane. I couldn't reverse so had to pull as far into a hedge as possible to avoid the haymover. Unfortunately on extracating the car from the hedge a twig caught under the body kit and ripped part of it down. Fortunately the twig didn't do much damage, I reckon a tweak here and there of the body kit should be all that's needed, it was just VERY ANNOYING!!!!

Just wanted to vent some anger!

It's a recent pruchase so this was its first long drive and I've never had a comfortable three and half hour trip in a car - and that was driving through a virtual blizzard! So there's something to smile about.

:D

Unlucky mate hope you get it sorted. iu detest tracts/farmers/tractor drivers. Everyday i have to travel to work via country roads and there all over the place. Just because there big they think they have the right of way. When they start paying road tax a may have a little bit of respect for them, but until then i will continue to dislike them :P

I was in Cornwall over the weekend too, and the same thing happened to me! Not a pretty sight!

I'm taking someone else's car down those types of roads next time!

It happened near the village of Henwood, off the B3254 on the way to Launceston.

I'm getting a quote from my Lexus dealer bodyshop (which is actually a B*W owned bodyshop).

I'll put the price up on this page - please let me know if you think they're taking the *****.

Which being the German B manufacturer, they might well do.

I can tell you now without the quote that they will take the ***** :D

Go to a smaller, decent independent bodyshop and get a quote. make a point to see their work.

Full TRD kit(front, rear and sides) fitting & spraying/entire back bumper respray/trd grille spray & fit/toms eyelids sprayed & fitted:

Lexus Bolton (toyota bodyshop) :tsktsk: :tsktsk: = £875

Independent(moddified car work undertaken) = £320

Absolute immaculate finish and valet included. Cant complain one bit

See my point? ;)

Pip - Yes I do see your point. A good point, well made. :winky:

Nick the Greek - I do live in the country - well Surrey, although I do work in London. Cornwall on the other hand, is like a different country, maybe that's why I encountered the hedge - I was driving on the right! :D

Ok - just got my quotes through and it is exactly what you predicted Pip.

Lexus bodyshop (actually a B*W one) - with all labour, parts and VAT = £460 :tsktsk:

Independent Body shop - witha all labour, parts and VAT = £230 :D

I've booked into the independent garage for next Wednesday.

The German body shop must think that every one who goes to them has more money than sense (easy assumption if they deal with B*W drivers I suppose)!

Thanks for the heads up Pip.

No worries dude. :winky: Some people with more money than sense or just plain no sense would take it to a dealership bodyshop. Thats how they can continue to go on ripping people off.

Glad you put up the quotes.
