Is that for real ?

That's actually really intelligent !! I wonder how it knows about safety ... and other traffic before making the monouvers ? ......

Wicked!

I imagine every motoring school will be ordering them then.

Wonder where it puts you if the gap was big enough for two cars ?

Knowing BMW drivers -- in the middle :D arrogant b******ds

That's actually been around a while, I've seen that same thing on an X5 a year or two ago, obviously still in testing or it would've been on one of the cars by now...... ;)

Very clever system indeed, although has anyone read this 4car article? Link

Most importantly, where it says "It also has a hands-free self-parking system which requires the driver to do nothing more than use the brake pedal."

Is it possible Lexus may have beaten BMW to it? :P

RX sort of does it but you had to turn the wheel yourself LOL

Of course the only other problem with the RX is that it doesn't know if another vehicle is already parked in the space that the green box guiding you into ;)

Well at least Toyota beat them to it :winky:

What Toyota has that mate?

I think the latest Prius has it (for some months now).

Its absolutely ridiculous, what is the whole point to drive a car then? I would love to mess with its signals if some twit used that in my vicinity.

Cool... but there must have been a glitch in the program, as the front fogs weren't on plus the indicator was working :lol::lol::lol:

If I remember correctly, the system has cameras above the wheels as well, to see how far it is away from the kerb - so in fact it would actually be the end of kerbed alloys :winky:

And there is no car currently available that can do this, except perhaps the new S-class which I'm not sure whether it does or not, but I think if it did, it would have been demonstrated in roadtests.....

As good as it is, I wonder what'd happen if there was no raised "kerb"...?

I suppose iRobot was true to life...in the future...we'll be able to sit at the wheel reading a mag and the headup display will show 127mph...listening to Bach....and supping a Cappucino...or a Beer and watching the footie...

PS - we all know what happened last time Mercedes tried to show off their S Class in the fog....

:o
