Went For It...now Insurance Hassle

Well, after a lot of indecision and procrastinating, I finally put a deposit down on an IS220d SE in silver with black interior. Car is due mid-March - exciting!! Haven't told ultra-keen BMW salesperson yet.

Wanted some advice from current 220d owners - having a spot of bother getting insurance quotes, as the on-line forms don't list the diesel, and calling up doesn't help either. Not listed.

Went to Lexus insurance and they quoted something ASTRONOMICAL.

Can anyone help?

I had enormous hassle getting the underwriter to recognise the car, it wasn't listed, only the IS250. Eventually they added it. The insurer in question was Tesco so you can always try them.

I was insured through Churchill, but no mention of the diesel on their site, so a quick phone call and a quote was forthcoming. £260 approx including ncd protection.

When I checked with direct line on the web their system crashed Had to call them to change over. That was for the IS250 back in December. Guess they haven't rolled out the new insurance tables to the web quotes systems yet for the 220d...try phoning.

HI I got a very good quote from MOre than..Although I think it is part of Ryal Sun Alliance who Lexus use
