well, after the thrilling read of man versus machine, ups and downs depression and elation, aswell as set backs and fires, anees puter install had me at the edge of my seat, and i have decided to go for it here is a list of the kit i have procured can any one tell me if there is anything i have missed?

1 x 1.2 gig mini itx system 160 gig harddrive and 512 ram, with dvd/cdr

1 x 150 watt opus psu

1 x prolex aux in adapter

1 x motorised sat nav mount and cables from a breakers yard(really hard to do when you are in iraq, a scrappy with e-mail skills must be hard to come by!!lol)

1 x mini x4 usb hub

1 x belkin usb wirless adapter

1 x blue tooth dongle

1x mini foldup Bluetooth key board

1x Bluetooth track ball

i know there is no screen mentioned thats where you come in, the sat nav mount comes with a screen in it, and i already have a 7" screen, is it poss to get a touch screen lay over for a 7 " screen or is it best to buy a touch screen from the out set?

since i got the lex i have driven it a handfull of times and then i got sent out here, since then i am about 2k lighter, reading and buying mods there seems no end, i sould just give the airforce mr prolex's bank details and transfer all my wages there save the middle man lol

if there is anything you think i have missed please let me know, i know this has come up a lot but i cant seem to find exact purchase lists for installs anywhere.

how easy is it to run a cable from the drivers door to the glove box? i plan in putting a mini track ball in the driverside door arm rest, just palying with ideas.

and where can you get the road runner skin from, as it looks ideal for what i want.

Carpuuuuuuters are so old these days! :P :P

Well done for trying it mate. Mine has not been forgotten, it is at home being put on steroids! LOL Hope to have it back in next week with a few improvements:shifty:

You sound like you've got everything you need except maybe for a few USB extension cables and ideally I'd put your hub at the front of the car for easy of use. The trackball looks good - I've just bought one too... :whistling: I'm planning on keeping it in the drinks holder next to the handbrake but your idea of in the door is actually excellent.

As for the software Road Runner is what myself and Geoffers and Billsy use. You can download loads of skins from the MP3Car forums.

The default skin is called Brushed Metal V2 and is what I have been using until recently.

A touchscreen is really cool and helps in the "wow" factor but having the screen in the sat nav housing can be abit far sometimes, so ideally its nice to have both.

If you are after a touchscreen I do have one for sale! :winky: Its a Xenarc/Gain 700TSV touchscreen. Its the one they all rave about on MP3Car. It is for sale on LinITX.com for £250ish I think. You can have it for £150 + P&P if your interested. It has a small scratch on the touchscreen overlay (did it when fitting into the Sat Nav housing  ) so thats why it is so cheap; may be able to get it polished out however. PM me if interested

:lol: Just read this! Thanks mate :D

I'm currently in negotiation with the BBC about releasing a TV series based on my epic. Currently deciding on casting - looks like I'll be played by Mr Blobby. :P

Will be updating the thread soon.... :whistling:
