Model Report Now Available - But Got Wrong Ecu

Good news and bad news:

The model report for the 6 speed manual RS200 is now available (hooray!)

But the listed ECU part number is 89661-53151. My car has 89661-83070 (as does Mr Singh, which suggests it's an ECU in reasonably wide use)

Kevin at Model Report is going to try Toyota to find out if this is a superceeded part number for essentially the same ECU, or if there is some difference. The test car is apparently Mar 2000 - mine is Feb 2000.

In the worst case, does anybody have a spare ECU with this part number on it I could borrow for a couple of weeks to get through the ESVA? If it's not a direct plug in replacement, I'm sure the cases could be swapped - if you get my meaning :D

The MR web site now lists 3 available reports:

4 cylinder tiptronic - ECU no 89661-53080

4 cylinder manual - ECU no 89661-53151

6 cylinder auto - ECU no 89661-53010

Just spoken with Toyota and got them to check part numbers.

Both are for manual Altezzas

89661-53151 is for cars from May 2001 to Aug 2003

89661-53070 is for cars from Oct 1998 to May 2001.

So it looks like the original owner of the test car must have changed the ECU at some point.

So does anybody have a spare ECU from a 2001 to 2003 manual Altezza? Or the ECU case? or even just the sticky label?

I fact, would anybody with a 2001 to 2003 Altezza be able to take a look at the ECU sticker - if the design hasn't changed then faking one shouldn't be too difficult:

For the two different computers for the 6-speed 3sge altezzas....is there a difference between the two? Meaning, are the maps any different, any new features on the newer ecu?
