Yet I can be on a deserted motorway at 03:00 with 10 miles to the next junction and the limit is the same.

have you reserved the road for your exclusive use?

\o/ I get to post a pic again.....

I think there should be more Police patrolling the roads the standard of driving is now at rock bottom, very few people use the indicators these day and ive followed alot of cars where they have no brake lights at all!! or the brake lights are stuck on all the time. The scameras only get people for speeding.Driving Education is Whats needed its not just speeding that Kills!!

The point is that "speed limits are there for your safety and that of others" so it is OK for me to drive at 70 round a blind bend with a farm track joining, a cross over another 100 yards on, on a road where combine harvesters are allowed. Yet I am legally omly allowed to do the same speed on a 5 lane deserted motorway?

So Yes, you would need to be going 300mph (135m/s) to create the required force :)

Of course I am NOT a structural engineer so my interpretations may be a bit off. :)

I am an Engineer and would never condone speeds of 300 on any road, a question was asked and I answered it :D

I actually believe that in some areas the limit should be reduced, built up areas with narrow roads, schools etc should be max 20 and anyone exceeding that should be disqualified for a period.

Motorways are a joke in this country, 70 limit, half the time your lucky to get over 50. Lane discipline is non-existant. I could pass my test in Stornoway with no roundabouts or traffic lights and then fly to London and drive on the M25.

Variable limit is good for me :D Works on the M25 and should be on every motorway.

Has anyone ever drivin in Spain/France/India??? No one gives a toss about road laws over there. Everyone speeds, people use both lanes of a dual carrage way. People regularly skip red light. Horn is used to excess. Indicators rarely used!!

well from what ive seen :P
