I was on the inside of a huge roundabout indicating left to pull off at my junction when a guy in an Astra estate thought he could squeeze thru before i made it across, needless to say, he didnt and banged up my ride.

Dented wing, smashed fog light, scuffs on the bumper. no one was hurt, no one accepted blame for it, my excess is £275 :( oh what a great day.. :crybaby:

**** hope you're ok mate, surely if you're on a roundabout which is give way to the right, that sort of says straight away he was in the wrong as he came out too late and hit you in the left wing?

Good luck getting it sorted buddy!

If you think you wont get your excess back try ringing Genore (GFS AUTOS) in Hunslet. He's a great guy and used to do ferraris at JCT before having his own co.

pm me for his number

He may get that done cheaper than £ 275 - maybe only a bit cheaper. Although it depends what the astra does

If you see him say Rich gave you the number

(post editted -rushed off for me tea and thought about it)

sadly you'll find from an insurance point of view that it will be 'knock for knock' it always is on a roundabout.

What does that mean? Just wondered as I've had a few near misses with bellends who just shoot out in roundabouts!

means both party`s loose no claims, blame and costs are divided between them

Other side of the coin the driver on the inside of the roundabout has gotten in the lane to go right the other car in the lane to go straight on and the car on the inside tried to get round the car that was in the legal lane ie left hand one and he got run into by the car that tried to get around him unsuccesfully.

I'm not saying thats what happened but thats what the guy can say happened. Insurances a sh*t Innit.

gutted for ya brett, can't believe the amount of accidents there has been this year!

was involved in a very similar kind of accident about 5 years ago, guy came from the middle of the roundabout at speed and collected me forcing me onto a dual carriageway.

didnt get very far with the insurance co either, they said that once on a roundabout there's no right of way and no lane discipline. upshot was they said they would only pay 50% of the damage. i didnt bother getting it sorted and just sold it, it was an old orion 1.6 ghia.

what's the initial response from your insurance co been like?

good luck mate
