Rattle From The Rear End!!!

Seem to have developed a rattle from the rear underside .... it's either a loose exhaust mount, heat shield or baffle plate ...

Anynody else had this problem? Everytime I shut the boot or go over a bumpy surface it occurs ... car is due 30k service soon anyway, so will get them to have a look at it

Make sure you take it to them before its actually done 30k miles so it is still under warranty

I had something like this. The dealers had a quick look and said they thought it might be a loose heat shield near the catalyst. They were going to look at it when it was booked in a couple of weeks later but then the noise disappeared.

have a look in your spare wheel well or under the side boot covers(10mm spanner required) as either one of your complimentary lexus tools may have come loose or some other small indiscrimanate object could be wandering around the hidden caverns and voids of your boot

He He :D - I once managed to loose a handful of loose change under the boot carpet - had great fun finding it in all the nooks and cranies :duh:

Thanks guys, I have checked the tool kit and it is secure ;)

And as for loose change ... I'm a Scotsman, we never have loose change!!! short arms and long pockets!!!

I think the noise is maybe a heatshield - that's as far as I have narrowed it down, but I'll get them to look at it when it goes in soon
