Cat2 Immobiliser

The standard immobiliser is cat 2 approved: Thatcham Report (look under toyota)

my insurance have insisted that my other car has to have a thatcham approved cat2 immobiliser ?

so a couple of Q`s:

which one ?

can i fit it ?

wheres best to get one ?

and how much ? ;)

its a toyota but its not got any security :crybaby:

insurance have just asked for cat2 immobiliser

dont know if they want proof or certificate , but imagine so

would it be better to have an alarm fitted which has immobiliser ??

oh yes one other question , how will a turbo timer affect it ? :winky:

Hi,

For the little bit extra it costs id go for a CAT1 that way you have piece of mind having a alarm on the car and when you dis arm the cars ready to start with the key rather than have to fiddle about with the dis arm key/sensor before you can start the car,there should also be slightly more discount on your car insurance with a CAT1 over the CAT2.

I had my CAT1 alarm fitted this year for around £300 with a lifetime warranty on the alarm for as long as i own the car. :)
