Is 200 Sport ?

I'm at present looking around at different cars (Lexus IS 200's). I'm going to view this one tomorrow, an IS 200 Sport on an 02 plate

A quick couple of questions for you:

If this is an IS Sport, why no Sport grill? Was it an extra?

Is the sound system the same in the Sport as the SE ?

Anything else I need to know about the Sport ?

A sport grille is a part available from Lexus, they are not fitted as standard.

The sound system in a Sport & SE are the same.

Check the condition of the alloy's & the gear change from 1st to 2nd.

The grill costs £ots because you can't just buy the badge and stick it on.

Nice motor - make sure its got all its keys

The sport is an insurance group higher than the SE and the only place sport is written is in the rear 3/4 windows and these are tinted

the sport should have tinted rear windows, a Sport sticker in each rear quarter glass, allow pedals and scuff plates when you open the doors.

Thanks guys :) ............Not sure what the milage is yet, hopefully quite low but I'll know tomorrow :duh: £11,500 but it is from a dealers. I know that maybe private I could get one a grand cheaper, just think buying private is always a bit dodgy...........have to take a couple of minders with me just in case

Just got back from viewing this motor and it's a big NO :duh:

It wasn't as nice as the pics make it look, lots of stone chips touched in, and talk about orange peel on the lower doors, I tell ya you could grate cheese on it!! It just didn't have that "looked after" feel to it..............Oh plus it had 59,000 on the clock, way too much for the asking price I reckon.

Plus side was that I got to go look over a Sport and definately liked it, next one to see is next week.............fingers crossed! :)

Its meant to be like that. Its the anti-stone chip paint. Shame there's nothing that Lexus can do about the bonnet. Most have stone chips over the front.

Pretty sure the electric passenger seat was the norm from late 2000 on.

The Sport has 2 tone leather wheel, LSD, Alloy Pedals and scuff plates, Rear (lip) Spoiler and smoked rear windows. (oh and crome rear tailpipe)

Along with the SE extras of 1/2 Leather, 17" wheels and sunroof.

Have i missed anything???

Yes, it's lowered as well but not a lot, and I think the suspension may be set a bit harder.
