Is It Worth Replacing Wheel Bolts?

Guys, was going to post something on Thom's thread but thought it would get more coverage as a new thread!

Anyway, after hearing what happened to Thom, with his wheel bolts shearing off, what is the life expectancy of the bolts, just wondered if it's worth replacing mine as I'm having the full braking system replaced soon, is this something worth doing from a safety point of view?

Cheers mate, just wondered if they were good for so many wheel replacement cycles if you see what I mean, last thing I need is for a wheel to collapse under me with my weight sat in there

Don't think they got a "life" as in so many cycles.

Problems are usually caused by incorrect tightening, either too much or not enough.

Got to say that Thom's post got me thinking, I have had the wheels on and off like a t**ts drawers recently adjusting the coilovers

Also young lad across the road came round the corner and his wheel fell off cos the bolts were stripped, the wheel coming off also knackered the threads on the stub axle so it looks like he can't get the hub off, still stops him tearing up and down the road.
