I think this was mentioned before but i cant seem to find it

My new pioneer DVD player says that it wont play DVDs whilst the car is being driven.

Is there anyway to bypass this so that it does

Thanks

Adie

Alot of these DVD's get connected to your handbrake, so that they won't play until the handbrake is on (ie, the car is parked).

So as far as I am aware, you just need to find that connection and cut it.

Yeah the wire to connect to the hand brake is a seperate one. But if i dont connect it to anything then surely the DVD wont work anyway

Hmmm.....I know what you're saying, but I have a friend of a friend who done it to his RS Focus and it works perfect. You just have to remember it's illegal (that's why I won't name him).

I'd say the handbrake must be working more as an "off" switch than an "on". Otherwise you would have to connect the lead to the handbrake to some other device that you could use as a power on button ?

Thanks guys. I'll pass on the information to the person who is having a dvd player fitted :D

Ive installed a DVD player into my Windom and it plays whilst I drive. It is connected to a On/Off swith that ive installed, so if there are any police nearby, I can just click the switch and the picture goes, but the sound still stays on.
