yea they are new covers, from my understanding you remove the standard covers and then fit the new ones on with the hogrings that should come supplied with the covers, using soem hogring pliers.

i think another member reccomended www.katzkin.com although I have no idea on their pricing or if they have the patterns already. have a look here for pricing I think (http://www.autoleathers.com/HTML2/AL.MAIN.FS.html)

it's only covers not the seats so I cant imagine postage being tooooo much, I was quoted $730 for two tone seats, piping and door inserts. So, I guess with shipping maybe like another $100 then tax on top you are still no where new 1k let alone £1,600 - however, if I get some i'd pick them up whilst I was over there and bring them back to avoid shipping and customs charges!

Fargo is the best person to ask and advise as he has done the process before.

HOGRINGS.... thats what the blinking C shaped things are called..

tempo i have just replied to you last PM... please omit the word C shpaed clip things with HOGRINGS lol

yeh as said above,, they are jsut 'skins' so peel off yor old seats and pull the new one over and on..

as for importing the kit,,,

leaterhseats.com kindly marekd the value down for me and so i ot stung for only 30 quid duty.....

still a hell of a lot cheaper than ANYWHERE in the UK for FULL leather........and not a minibar insite...

Hello Tempo - I had the cloth interior on my wife's Mk 11 RX 300 changed a couple of months ago for Sussex leather trim. Cost was £800 + VAT.(£100 extra for the perforated seat inners). I used a local company to me , in Leicester - Auto-Trim Systems. Contact is Peter Swann ,owner, on 0116 266 4112. They've done a suberb job and we're really pleased with it. Needed about a month to book it in and they took 3-4 days to complete it. If I knew how to post a photo for you , I would, so I'll have to wait til the weekend for my wife to send it ,if you want to see it. Cheers, Bugsy.

in the end you gets what you pay for in a leather interior just the same as with a leather jacket.

The people you got the quotation from are the people who did mine, now what your paying for there is a Bently quality interior and sheer perfection.

If your not after that then there are others out there that will do it cheaper for you. and yes you can also order seat covers in but then again you can also buy seat covers from halfrauds

surely you're not comparing Halfords generic seat covers to some leather ones you can get professionally made up???

I have seen a lot of interiors come through the doors at the company in gold, and a lot of them are people going there who dont like the quality on their mercs and astons etc so they are upgrading, as well as people who have had work done by other "top" companies and also bought in items that were less than perfect.

the only way to get a good fit is to take apart the one that came off your seat and use it for patterns rather than a generic pattern. as it leads to creases and saggy seats.

i had all mine re padded to improve the comfort and every panel was cut as per the panel it was replacing and if you ever care to look at mine you will see that it is as near to a benly interor as you can get in a lexus. when it was put next to steffies dads Continental GT there was near to no difference in quality and stiching.

It took them 7 full days of 12+ hours a day to do my interior. And love went into it.

In the end if your after perfection there is one route, if your not then there are other ways..

cant say fairer realy

I agree with the don..

I have seen very very good work for £1000-£1500 by Mj Interiors, totally flawless, even though he's known to specialise in V-dubs he'll do any car, won plenty of awards too.

Another is Jamie at Carisma (from pimp my ride uk) but then he worked for Rolls Royce so he has somewhat high std's!

IMO, look at the work before you make your mind up.... same as you would before getting respray!
