Skid Pan Training

Came across the idea on the TIF for a day out skid pan training.

Sounds like a load of fun and useful at the same time. If a group of 12 get together you get exclusive use of the pan, so could probably get them to focus more on RWD.

I did the skid pan on my driving course ............. oh what great fun it was !

Don't know if I'd pay for it though .........

Sounds like a hoot... but only if in someone else's car.

Not sure that I'd want to put a car I owned through it... and now with having an RX I'd be scared that it rolled !

I've done a couple - infact Castle combe have quite a good one..

It's great fun - and regardless of how much you think you know - you still learn things (the castle combe one has hazard avoidance during skids as well)..

They have both FWD and RWD cars, as well as a 'timed' race at the end..

Its money well spent,anyone new to RWD would really benefit from it.

I did the Combe one years ago not long after passing my test and theres lots to be learnt :)

Thanks to that cat last weekend it was 'skids in my pants' that caught my attention.

how about having a RWD Drift skid pan day? rather than learn how to control the car, learn how to make it out of control! i believe this is harder to do!!!!!

Before they closed it I did the skid pan training in a bus at the London Transport training centre at Chiswick.

Exactly the same location as the 'On the Buses' film where Blakey is sent across the skidpan :)

Ive done a fair bti of driving on a skid pan, so not really up for it, a bit too simulated for me.

The course has a maximum number of 12, so sorry about that..

oh, and they can make it RWD only if we want.

It will cost £800 for up to 12 people - about £67 each.

Currently they have the following dates available - but it could fill up:
