Car Back From The Bodyshop

Recommended Posts

Well, got my car back today from the bodyshop, overall not impressed! One side of the car is good but the other side is really poor. Everything about it is poor really!

Let me post some pics and you can give me your views, I can't believe they let me have the car back like that. I wonder if they are even capable of doing a good job!

What I had done was repair two front wings and then bumper (stone chips) and front part of bonnet spray (more stons chips), what do you reckon is a fair price for all this?

heres the pics

where top of bumper meets wing

the anti stone chip stuff or whatever you call it, nice blending job done!

gallery_4363_57_155071.jpg

can you see at the front of the door where it's all too silvery, crap job and also see on the bottom where the speckled ***** is

gallery_4363_57_88864.jpg

so, realisticly can I expect a perfect job? to me its taking the ***** and the more I think about it the more angry I get, the bottom sill part is just comical.

what do I do if the shop (for some reason) refuses to do anything about it?

and no it wasnt done through Lexus

yea, i'm gonna go there tomorrow and see what he says. Can't see him offering to spray the whoel front again though, then if he bodges it there will just be somewhere else where it doesn't match up!

also I can't see him giving me my money back.

also, no courtesy car so it's a bitch to be withough it again!

i'm ****** off

thats the thing Marcus, i'm wondering if they are actually capable of doing a good job? how many times am I going to have to go back? to be honest not it's probably easier if he just sprays the whole car in his version of my paint code as he's already gone down to the passenger door with his 'efforts'

i'll name and shame if they don't fix it.

however if they don't then they will be going to court!

it's no where near london so you're safe!

can't get the speakers to work either, seems like half the amp isnt working, channels 1 and 2, all fuses are ok though? when I switch the wires they work in channels 3 and 4 so it's obviously the amp not the speakers, dunno whats happened there

It sounds bad mate, seems you have two channels blown on amp. Did they disconnect any of the speakers? If they would short the wires when radio was on it could blow the amp.

Sorry to hear that.

Man... Is that a joke?

Demand refund or have the work done again, and make fuss of it that its cost u in public transport etc...

If you paid for it, did you get a reciept? Are the a registered with the VSIB?

I'd of kicked off if they done that to my car!!!!

ok guys, been back over there and it's booked in for a week today and picking it up a week tomorrow. A bad 'reaction' he says, cou;dn't explain the poor match though or why there is a pube in the paint!

yes Mr Singh I have a fully itemised bill.

sadly the amp is ****ered!

Last time I saw that puckered effect was 20 years ago when I used an aerosol spray on a mark2 escort and did not let the paint dry completely, and the lacker reacted.

Its apauling that they let the car come back to you like that.

yea, I only need one that puts out 2 x 150w at 4ohms I believe it is

one other thing, sorted the coilover knocking, now they are silent!

Name your budget and we'll go from there :)

I didn't have any knocking in the first place :P

well, after the expense of this week (tyres and bodyshop), plus an exhaust is on it's way the budget is about 0.01p

seriously though i'll have a think about how much I want to spend on it and get back to you

right now i've got them running on individual channels at about 37w (was 150) so isnt sounding too good, also obviously it's not 4ohms either
