I dont have a workaround for it Im sorry, have you tried to uninstall it and reinstall it?

Ive always used Itunes for importing CD's

its fast, names the tunes and very easy to use and its free

could be worth a shot if sonicstage is driving you crazy

Thought of reinstalling but won't that delete my library?

Using the latest version, Mike? The 3.1 update is on the Sony site.

Mike, make sure you're up to date with the SonicStage software. It's very tempermental, i've been using it a for a couple of years now, but only as a media player.

Unfortunately, for a company of Sony's size in this area of development i would've expected more. Maybe i just haven't given it enough time to grow on me, lol.

I've found that SonicStage does force you to shut down and reopen the program in some very awkward instances, yours being an example of one.

I recommend using WMP10 to import CD's then do a search on your library from within SonicStage. WMP10 is far quicker at importing CD's (in my opinion)

It is the latest version - 3.1 that came with the NW-HD5 player. The player is a cracking piece of kit but the software is just terrible, worse than previous versions. Where can I get the WMP10 sofftware Nij?

Mike, i've just realised you were referring to SonicStage on the NW-HD5.

Unfortunately, i'm not completely familiar with this hardware, and what software it can support.

WMP10 is the latest version of Windows Media Player by Microsoft.

It is freely downloadable from the microsoft website, but for use on an entire Operating System setup such as XP.

I'll see what i can find out about the HD5.

I got so fed up with sonic stage I nearly junked my net MD. However, real have a plugin which supports the net MD's. Install Real which you might already have installed anyway, and one of the updates is a netMD plugin.... You can then do everything from here!!!!

Switch to a better program :D

Actually Sonicstage might be the worst program I've ever used, except for NetMG that Sony also made... Crashed like 5 times when copying 10 songs from the computer to the minidisc. .. (I never tried to import a cd since there are alot of better programs for that).
