Thanks for getting in contact, I really appreciate it.

The garage looking at my car have said the caliper is fine, the problem is that it's the pad carriers have seized. More worringly, the wheel was only being held on by 3 bolts - one had snapped off and the other was on it's way. What on earth cause that to go? Have not long had new tyres, so could it be down to using an air gun?

Anyway, look out for the post offering a caliper for sale soon!!!

Seems a common Lexus wheel issue - typre place not using torque wrench would appear to be the issue - very nasty if only 3 were secure though ... I never let garages use air-guns when putting wheels back on now ...

The wheel studs are under torque 103nm and act like "stretch" bolts, the excessive heat from the caliper will easily degrade the stud and allow it to "snap".
