Sony Nw-hd5 Hdd Player 30gb

Was thinking of jacking in my mini disc player and going over to a portable HDD player. This new 30GB Sony model looks good.

Cheapest I found so far is £219

It doesn't have the FM tuner though, if that bothers you ?

It does look good. I thought it was Sonys competition for the apple Ipod. Similar sort of thing.

I've read reviews, they said its not too bad, gave it 4/5 in T3 if I remember correctly. Something about the software or something...sorry can't be much more helpful right now, shattered!

Picked one up today coming through Schipol airport - paid the equivalent of £210.

Nicely finished piece of kit, feels very solid, all brushed aluminium and no plastic. It's about the size of a packet of cigarettes cut in half lengthways. With a capacity for up to 20,000 tracks I should get my entire CD collection backed up!

Went into my local Sony shop today to by a cable to connect the "line out" socket to a cassette simulator, only to be told that Sony don't make one!

It doesn't seem to work using the standard cassette simulator plugged into the headphone socket
