Dvd Encoding Question

Ive downloaded the complete series of the Contender, now i want to put them onto one dvd..

Ive done loads of conversions before, but never multiple video to one dvd..

I use TMPGEnc for all my encoding needs.

i use to use gordian knot.

anyone help me out.

get a programme called Ulead DVD MovieFactory it put it all in chapters etc choose you own title menue etc

i used this and its dead easy and used it to fo Champions League final peter kay etc

i can chapter files, and do menuing no problem (TMPGEnc Author)

the problme im having is that i have 15 seperate Xvid files, that at the moment i can convert to 15 seperate dvd files, but ithis (as far as i know) will not be suitable for sticking on 1 dvd (due to the dvd file structures.

i guess im gona have to join allthe xvid's together, then convert this single xvid to dvd, then go through and chapter it..

I use winavi

you feed it all the divx/xvids you want

and it'll make it into files suitable for DVD

but squashing 15 episode onto 1 dvd is going to result in the worst quality video you have ever seen

each xvid file is already only 230 odd megs, i reckon the qaulity will be ok, i wont be watching it on a high def tv or anything, so i hope the loss will be inperceptable... hell if i can compress a 9gib commercial dvd to one normal dvd without any perceptable loss then this should be ok..

theres a guy on eBay selling the complete series on one dvd,, wonder if his one is all right...

I use winAVI video converter like brett. Its dead easy to use, drag and drop, set chapter lengths and hit convert. should work fine

also I put 13 files onto a dvd no trouble

Try DVDSANTA you just put your files in and select your options at the bottom then press convert or make dvd and it does it all for you.

It will join all files up into 1 dvd and put chapters in at about every 5mins i think.

but divx's use a superb compression system, mpeg2 isnt so good, when I tried it in the past, I was trying to fit 10 x 30 min episodes and it was horrid. so i got a new dvd player that handles Divx's instead

What blank dvds are you guys using? Whenever i burn a dvd it tends to go "glitchy" sort of sticking after about half hour to hour

I always use either Ritek's own discs or ones that use ritek dye been using them for over 2 years on anything that eats dvd's
