New Is

Recommended Posts

Has anyone seen the pre-release brochure for the new IS? It has a picture of the interior with a manual gearbox, which I hadn't seen before.

My question is, could they have made that manual gearbox any uglier? It looks like its out of a ten year old Ford :sick:

Personally, I'd have an auto anyway, but I think this would seal the deal if I was confused between the two, cos the auto looks really good :)

The other odd thing is that the 220d is available with VDIM, but the 250 only has VSC

Interior looks nice ,see what you mean about the gearstick, not too pretty :crying:

I think they changed the shape of the new IS too much, dare i say it almost looks like a new Toyota Avensis!

Any body outhere care to comment on the diesel engine

I'm suprised at Lexus, I thought they would stay Pedigree Petrol

I don't get why they've cut the wood panel and put in that awful gearbox with what can only be described as a plastic crumb tray around it!

I'm sure the majority of sales will prob be autos, but still, I think they could've done better than that

I like the new interior :) , but same as you lot, hadn't seen a manual till now and it does look a bit rough, defo looks like an old Vauxhall effort.

Be interested to see the quality of materils they use, I think thats one area they could have done slightly better in the current car, I have no complaints, but some of the plastics could be just that touch better in places

If Japan drive on the left ? and so do we, why can't they provide a right hand drive set of interior pics ?

Are they showing their intention to mainly target the countries that drive on the wrong side of the road ?

I can understand your common as muck French motors coming out early with LHD but not a country that is RHD anyway.

Another spot ?

If your passenger ejects a CD just as you are changing into 3rd or 5th does the CD chop your knuckles off ?

where the freck is the two-tone dials and intertwined rev/mileometer thingys that made the Lexus IS so different to everybody elses motors?????????????????????

Look at it now, it doesn't stand out at all.

Everybody who has sat in my car has always commented how much they like the look of the instruments etc, becuase it doesn`t look like the block plastic vw/bmw/audi etc all use.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

It makes me sick that they`ve succumbed to commitee group think and have gone back to implementing featureless interiors.

Now i know the strength of brand loyalty in LOC, but do you really think the new interior looks better than the old, and that your not just saying that because its a lexus?

I am so disappointed as i`d hoped the new model would grow on me, but it hasn`t because it is so internally plastic and bland like the new 3 series BMW

Certainly makes you wonder whether Lexus-san actually asks LOC about their views..............

RAnt over, need breath back in this heat!

Those dials were so dated now mate.. in fact now when i look at the old IS interior it looks horrible.

The interior is very similar to the new GS. Can't Lexus be more imaginative and make the two cars different. Well the hand break lever is not as awkward as the current IS.

I hope this new IS grows on me as I have started looking elsewhere. Now a BMW though
