blimey, mines insured for more than that and without a turbo and half your mods!

damage does look pretty nasty, may take the insurance co a while to decide on that judging by my recent experience

its rare that the actual mods are insured for replacement

the extra premium is the extra risk they are taking

be it performance where the liklyhood is of an accident is possibly higher, or from cosmetic where the likleyhood of it being stolen comes in

therefore the value would be based on the typical value of a replacement without mods

I just read the post, I glad you and your son ar ok Marcus. :)

I feel for your car and hope it will be fixed but if I were the inspector, I would write it off, there are too much damage for the car to be really safe again, moreover with a turbo.

the car went down the bank and hit the bank at the bottom and was on its side at 1st, we got out and pulled it back on its wheels, so the car was only on its side for about 3-5 mins at most.................i was going about 60 not only that i was on full boost as i was about to over take............. ;)

When i talked to them on monday they just told me to get it to a place where i want it to get fixed and get the Bodyshop to FAX a Quote over............just have to wait now!! ;)

It can be fixed, its upto the insurance company to make up there minds if the cost is worth it or not...

UPDATE!!

Had the ins on the phone today, they said one of there guys are comeing out on the 28th to have a look............i have asked them to phone me when he gets there so i can be there to have a talk to him ,

put it this way i will not let him "write it off" ..............if i have to pay some of the costs i will get it fixed as i still have to much outstanding on it ;)

I will see what he has to say on the 28th..............just hope its good new ;)

Thank mate :) ...................the body shop its at have told me it will only take 2 to 3 weeks to fix so i should be at JAE :D ...............with a nice "new looking IS" and i have 1 or 2 things i want the bodyshop to do for me when they start to fix it .......i will let you guys know how it all go,s :winky:

I have just got me a "Door Mirror" thanks to good old eBay "Price" £43 :winky: saveing of ...........wait for it £180

now i just need to get the rest off the OS bits :)

a long with the "Door Mirror" i got today.................i have just got me a very nice set of wheels at a very very good price put it this way the wheels in the shop are £800 i have just picked up the same set on eBay for £400..............a saveing of £400 :winky: dont ask what ones as you will all see at JAE......... :D

so 2 items i have saved £580
