Tyre Width To Rim Width ?

OK, so now I have the problem of choosing the correct tyres for my new rims.

What I would like to achieve is to fit some fatter rubber to the rear tham whats at the front, but maintain the correct profile fron to rear.

What is the maximum size tyre you can SAFELY put onto a 18 x 7.5 rim, and what would I fit to the front if I wanted something just slightly skinnier.

i think Im gonna go for the Falken FK451, but confused about widths etc.

Suggestions would be nice.

225/40 normal.

215 thin.

205s on 9jj is achievable;)

i think 205 on a 7.5j is fine
