Opinions welcome.

Last week my wife's Civic was hit in the rear by a woman in a white Transit. I know, it couldn't get any worse.

The thing is the Civic is M-reg and has done less than 40,000 miles. It would go on without fault for the next 10 years. I reckon there is over £2,000 worth of damage on a car that's worth around £ 1,500.

No dispute as to who was at fault. Can I insist that the car is repaired to it's former condition?

no the car is only insured up to the resale value any more and you would have to pay the difference.they will class it as a total loss and you can buy it back and get the work done yourself .just had the same problem with my van
