Bug Alert! (help!)

Recommended Posts

I have recently purchased a 2000 Platinum ice IS200 Sport, which is my first Lexus car and i must admit, is everthing i expected and more! One problem i have found (and dont laugh!) there is a bug of some sort lying dead behind the clear plastic on the dash, underneath the speedo dials. Dont ask me how it has got there, but does anybody know if i can easily get at it and remove, or is it an embarrasing trip back to the garage? There are two screws at the top of the dash before the clear plastic but i'm not sure what these are for. I'd be grateful of any help, thanks.

It's a bit of a nightmare trying to get the dash out. Remove the top 2 screws. Remove the screw under the ignition barrel. You will also need to remove the bottom black bit (as thta locks into the trim) and this can be removed by 2 more screws (one on either side).

Take everything out. The dash should now be exposed. This is held in place with 4 srews (if I recall correctly). Remove theses, and the dash display should come out. Unplug the 2 blocks in the back. Now pry open the glass off the front and remove bug.

Reverse above.

I've got a 17" LCD TV in the bathroom, behind a grouted-in glass panel.

With a dead woodlouse in front of the damned TV. Got to peel back the wallpaper on the landing, unscrew an MDF panel and remove the TV to get the f***ing thing out!
