Where To Start?

Recently got an IS200 SE and I'm looking to get more performance out of it, what should I start off with and can anyone recommend reputable places to get the work carried out, preferably in the Nottingham area but not essential.

Cheers.

best place to start is the exhaust. A decent back box, or cat-back system will free up your engine significantly - okay, it wont make the figures much higher, but you will notice a big difference.

I would reccomend a HKS system, but these are hard to come by, I know Pro-Lex do a good one also, but I have no experience with it.

What comes next, is more down to your budget. If your looking to keep costs down, then an induction kit and piggyback ECU would mate nicely to a modified exhaust, and give you a reasonable increase.

However, if you can afford it, you want to go the supercharger route. Expect about 225bhp from the TTE system.

Dont however, forget brakes and handling - you can go for lowering springs which as well as reducing ride height, will stiffen the ride, or go for some coilovers, which, while less comfortable, will give much higher stability through the bends.

As for the brakes, if your just adding a S/C, you can just get better disks and pads, although there are options for upgrading the whole system if your serious.

Cheers was thinking of going for a supercharger and I've seen the Pro-Lex site, has any body used them?

Then that's Dave, he is an 'authorised trader' here on LOC

His username is : ProLex-UK

His authorised traders forum is :

There is a place I've used up in Bulwell, near the Morrbridge tram stop:

Automotive Diagnostic Centre

0115 975 5200

Unit 3

Moorbridge Hucknall Lane

Bulwell

Nottingham

NG6 8AF

They fitted my Apexi coilovers at a reasonable price. They also have their own dynomometer, although I haven't used it

There is also this place in Keyworth which specialises in tweaking Scoobies and Evo's but I haven't paid them a visit yet. They do compressors, turbos, ECU remaps etc and have a dyno.

Hi mate, welcome to the club.

My advice would also be to change the exhaust. Also the removal of the pre-cats and lower the car ( better handling and better looks ). Also little things like better air filter and spark plugs.

Oh and get yourself a SUPERCHARGER :D
