Is250, Etc

Recommended Posts

Whilst watching Men & Motors last night there was a motor show program that briefly featured the IS250.

They quoted that the new model is 3" longer and 3" wider than current.

At least I know - now how wide is my garage door................

Bazza is right, it's meccano, simple electrics ( plug ) and making sure you can mout the control box to the roof. If jists show it's fairly easy ( you may need to put in a few braces ), if i't plastered then you have to make holes through to the joists for the support brackets.

therein lies the problem, sorry to hi-jack the topic...

my garage is has a rising apex. meaning the front slopes back and up from the door. it has 2 beams quite high up. and practically nowhere to mount brackets, hinges, or motors. :(

When I had mine done the garage door had to be replaced because you need a particular type of up and over door.

One of the types you need is one with the horizontal channels running in line with the top of the door from the front and into the garage. The door has a set of wheels that run the channels.

If you want to view mine in operation send me a PM (I'm in North Hayes on the Northolt side)

ps: My thread, hijack no problem :)

do the horizontal channels need to be bracketed against a wall or ceiling? or are they floating channels...? If they are, then that sounds perfect... :)
