What Am I Missing?

Four months in I have a couple of points with which someone may be able to help.

I struggle to see the climate screen when it's bright outside.Do I need to change dash light setting or just the screen contrast ( which seems fine on other screens)?

Can't get used to cruise control.Had it on last 3 cars but on the RX it does not seem to" resume" unless you are back to virtually the preset speed.Other cars picked up from around 40 mph.

Both the dash light and the contrast button change the brightness of the climate display, I turn the dash light on full and then mess around with the contrast button.

Can't help with the cruise problem, I never use it.
