how hard are these to fit

what would a garage charge to fit these

tell you in a couple of days when my new ones arrive from TDi and i put rthem on by all accounts its a breeze as long as you get a good set of spring compressors

However if anyone has a quick rundown how to do it i would appreciate it as well don't want to be caught in a well it b :tsktsk: y looked easy situation :D

Er.... I paid £120 to have mine fitted. :)

Also their is a guide in the Knowledge section - just print it and take it with you to the garage if your getting them done from a garage.

And make sure the ABS sensors are disconnected, or else they might get broke :angry:

in a nutshell i assumed it was a case of compressing the spring dropping the shock down swapping springs then refitting am i miles off :huh:

That guide is sound advice! those springs are under 100s of lbs of pressure, get it wrong and you will be seen on "radar"

And the sat nav :D

I don't think the Sat Nav covers space does it Tony? :P :whistling:

look there are jets flying over your head everyday that iu have fixed i am taking all this doubting my ability rather personally :crybaby:

would feel a bit stupid turning up to JAE with my face swathed in bandages :D

The fronts are OK to do, the rears are a :tsktsk: in the :tsktsk: cause you have to remove the boot liner :angry:

At the presure these are under, I'd be more worried about losing my face rather than cutting it. :unsure:

Tried it once on a BM, the clamps slipped and the spring went completely through the bodywork of the car, since then it's someone else's problem.

I paid £25 a corner to get mine fitted

i am determeined to do this myself i like the satisfaction you get from knowing you did the job yourself

I figured it this way, by the time a spent the dosh on compressors to do the job i'd prob be 1/2 way to paying for someone else to do it. Then there was the agro of messing about on a trolley jack, witness Mr Morse and his mishap. So take a day out and save a trip into orbit :D
