Tte Supercharged Is200 Owners...

Guys, i wonder if anyone can help put something straight.

Since fitting my supercharger its been a PITA when it 'bogs out' literally... it will cough and splutter if you try and drive it normal. I can change the TPS @ 5-90%.... however it is pretty temperamental and just wondered if you IS200 owners had the same issue with yours?

Speaking to Blitz UK they said its an issue with the MAF sensor being too far away from the throttle body. Would bringing it closer (since there is all the intercooler pipe to think of) fix/solve the situation?

When it goes it really takes off... but I've been having to drive around the problem and this weekend it did ***** me off as sometimes i look like a fool in a car with the petrol running out kangarooing down the road :lol:

Comments suggestions?

the IS200's dont have MAF sensors they have MAP sensors instead.

U do get it bogging down a bit if u floor it at very low revs but otherwise its fine and have no probs with drivability.

Ah right..

There has to be a solution to my problem. I think i might bypass the intercooler since the MAF won't be quite so far from the throttle body then.. yay or nay?

Very useful link!

But from reading that it seams the Hot wire in the MAF is causing the issue, with there being more air now being Forced in, its cooling the hot wire more than usual so therefore upsetting the car during normal use, more so at lower RPMs?

Surely a MAP wouldn't work though, its a totally different way of measuring air and i'd almost certainly have a big issue with the ECU taking to that?!

I won't let it beat me!!

JPS Motorsport are the ones who broke my ABS sensor when lowering my car. :tsktsk: They could not find the problem and overall not returned calls and bad service.

I'd take your car to another garage just to be on the safe side, as I dont have any faith in JPS at all  It seems they might know about Supras but nothing about Lexus
