Aristo Standard Tyre Size?

The spare tyre that came with the car in the boot has a 225/55/16 on it.

The car has different alloys,it has 17s on it.

Can anyone tell me if the spare tyre with the 225/55/16 is the correct standard size.

I need to put 2 new rear tyres on and i want to make sure ive the right profile,at present the rears are 255/40/17 i think the profile may be wrong at present

Id rather the speedo read a little fast,than slow what with all the speed cameras about..

Reads about right, the aspect ratio of a 225/ 55= 123.75

a 255/ 40= 102+ the 1" extra from the wheel

do you need the "exact" r/p/mile?

I have 225/55 R16, this the correct size for the MK I Aristo, it's also to small IMOP aswell, the link below will allow you to work out the correct size aswell as give the changes it would make to your speedo, you'll need a JAVA App for the applet to work

I went for size which was on the 17s as mentioned above.
