Air Conditioner

Recommended Posts

How often does the air conditioner need regassing or even aircon serviced? I got a feeling mine isnt right somehow..... Its not too hot today i switched the a/c on & isnt cold as i think it should be??so would that be it need regassing? its 1999 50k now im 2nd owner i dont think its ever been regassed before & a/c has not been used much. Would the aircon be serviced when taking the car for a service?Been serviced accordingly like 20k, 30k & 40k etc..

Cheers

it would not e part of the service to re gas the air con system, if it has not been used much then the seals might have dried allowing the gas to escape, it sounds like u need a regas and the dyeput in aslo, this will allow them to pin point any leaks in the system.

u should use the aircon on a regular basis to keep the seals lubricated.

Thanks guys & for that thread! I was advised a while ago that the aircondition should be used in winter too?? didint really think much of it back then but guess i will now.

However on my last car - a Mazda 323 Lantis did have Aircon regassed twice & still had same prob of not cold not long afterwards. I guess it was something bit more serious than regassing so im hoping samething wont happen this time, i never did find out what was wrong with it as i sold the car.
