How Do I Change Rear Indicator Bulbs....

Guys

Stupid question time :iraqi-info-minister: And YES I did do a search!

Are there orange reflectors in the rear indicator light clusters on the IS200 or is it just an orange bulb?

If its just a bulb I'd like to change them to the clear type that flash orange when they come on.

How does one even get at the bulbs in the rear light clusters?(Never got manual when I bought car)

What type bulb are the rear indicator bulbs?

Philips Silver Vision PY21W from www.powerbulbs.co.uk

two screws under the boot seal for the light (under plastic caps), then it just comes out I think from memory.

Once I undo these two screws which way does the light come off?

ie Should I pull it towards me? or Push it sideways?

towards you, might need a little physical encouragement but it just comes straight out. Might need to disconnect the wires at the back though? cant remember hwow tight they are but obviously this is accessable by removing the boot carpet (presume there must be something else to undo at the back but cant remember as it was a long time ago, its obvious when you remove the carpet though)

DO NOT remove the carpet it will get you nowhere, all the connectors are on the light assembly.

open the boot lid, look next to the light that u want to remove, u will see 2 blanking caps, remove these and remove the 2 screws that u can now see.

with 2 hands pull the light unit towards u, it might be a stuck but it is only held on 2 plastic studs, nce it is free , angle the top of the light towards u slightly and then the light unit will be free ( i say angle it towards u as there is a little lip on the light assy that engages behind the bumper)

re fitting is a reversal of the above.

At which point you may want to put a cloth on the bumper so you dont scratch it....but no need to remove carpet, theres a pic of mine in the garage :)
