i have a slight problem with my laptop, if anyone can help

every time i start up my laptop sony vaio a yr old ish, so not aincent; it reverts to graphics settings of 8 bit. SO looks terrible.

Does anyone have any ideas, or heard of this before? virus check says nothing, but might not be right.

have a go at reinstalling the Graphics drivers. You should of got some sort of CD with it, this should have it on them.

Or if you're on the net with it go to windows update, and this may have an updated version.

Is it the same setting when windows is loading up? If not have a go at making another User account on it (go into Control Panel) then log on to this one and see if its the same

Also worth checking what sort of monitor windoze thinks you've got , it will adjust the settings down if it thinks your display is not capable of better things.

only one choice of monitor the vaio one.

will try windows update, let u know how it goes

havent got cd with me, but think have one at other house.

only one user, but not on start up no, will try creating a new user and see how that works
