Alloy Wheel Cleaner

Whilst cleaning the car today I wondered what to use for the alloys, as they were a bit Manky.

I used Cillit Bang, came up a treat :D

then a bit of polish looks the biz now

I use Wonder wheels and then I give a coat of polish and then sealer for that xtra shine,

wonder wheels is great stuff for caked on brake dust.

its really agressive though - you don't want to use it every week

Wonder Wheels is the bizz, but not all the time though, just for hard baked grime. Must wear gloves otherwise it'll melt yer fingers!

Never use anything on my alloys apart from shampoo and elbow grease ,them lexus alloys are to delicate .

Got some in local supermarket.

But got mine from Makro the power grime and lime cleaner for £1.79 +V.A.T.

It is good for it's proper purpose which is limescale removal - use it in the bathroom.

If you polish/wax your wheels it will probably be a bit too strong and remove it all.

My wheels were really Manky and normal wash didn;t get half of it off,so sprayed Cillit on left for 1 min, washed off with clean water,dried & then waxed,now look good as new

I'd never ever ever put wonder wheels near a set of alloys... I used it in the past and it ended up rusting the wheel nuts / locking wheel nuts. Over time it wil completely knacker your wheels....

Heard the best stuf on market is...

product code IN047 - spray on neat and simply hose off for very soiled wheels, or dilute 1 part Virisol to 10 parts water for light soiling.

My brother uses this stuf on his Porscehe and says it's reallllly good...

My mate at the local car accessories shop told me NOT to use Wonder Wheels on new (up to 7/8 years old) alloys. He said the best stuff on the market is Hot Rims from Meguiars. I must admit it was rather good, but they need to make a brush to apply it. Have a look in your local car shop.
