I imported my RX300 from the US into the UK. It now needs to pass the SVA test. Obviously I need to get the headlights adjusted. Apparently I also need indicator repeater lights on the side, fog lights at the rear added (not sure about this one), and remove amber running lights at the side. My local garage says it can't do this for me. The Lexus dealer in Bracknell says it won't touch a grey import (not sure if my car falls into this category seeing as I owned for two years in the US). Anyone aware of what else I might need modifying to pass the SVA test and any recommendations of a garage not too far from the Gerrards Cross area tha could do all this for me?

The fog lights can be the type you buy from Halfords( you only need one) Or you can buy the rear light clusters from Lexus dealer which incorporate the fogs.

Any local auto electrician should be able to sort your problems out. None of them are really difficult jobs.

You will have to have the vehicle's camber adjusted to take into account driving on the other side of the road. Again this is not difficult. The headlights may have to be replaced with uk spec type as it may not be possible to simply adjust them to the left due to the refraction properties of the lens.

My friend brought in an Audi TT from Germany and had to do this to get it registered on a uk plate. I think you can get an information pack on this topic from the vehicle licencing agency which outlines what will need to be done.

Good luck
