Ahhhh!

while washing my car a short time sago have notice that on the roof and also the bonnet

it has small areas where the paint seems to be flaking off, doesnt lok like chip damage.

has anyone else heard of this happening before?

i think it was fargo ( paul) had an issue with the bumper flaking but have not heard it on the body.

yep,, twas me who's paint on the bumper started to come off when using a normal jet washer.. got sorted under warrenty..

unfortunately my car is 2001 and lexus only does 3 yrs warranty on paintwork.

but its actual paint too, not just laquer.

isnt the paint work 5 or even 10 years warrentied.. clearly its a factory fault.. and a is well know problem.

edit: ok just seen when it ran out - i dont think they will do anything after that period of time, a few weeks maybe but not a year +

I had the same problem on the left hand front wing (51 plate) Lexus had it for repair on Monday and it wasn't sorted to my satisfaction. Going back to the bodyshop again on the 21st. aaaarrrrr

what should you wash your car with? I jet wash it wet, clean it with a sponge, then jetwash again to clean it. Any ideas what should be done instead?

i gently jet wash quickly to get bad dirt off then use soapy water.

then polish to perfection.
