Passanger Footwell Carpet

hi

i have to gain access behind the carpet in the passanger footwell next to the transmission tunnel (the upreight bit) so i can get to the mobile phone control box.

how is the carpet removed in this area ?

it seems to stiff to compres down from behind the plastic/wood trim on the top of the gear change area.

any thoughts please.

I have had all of this carpet out on my 93 LS400 to install all my I.C.E. you have to remove all plastic trim, centre console etc and round the doors. the carpet has clips underneath it that clip to the metal of the car. you need to remove the cover under the glovebox to remove the carpet as well. it does take some time, these cars were built well.
